What to Check When Buying a Carpet Extractor

A carpet extractor has a number of residential, commercial, and industrial uses. Whether looking to clean floor mats and carpets, upholstery and automotive interiors, or retail shop floors and industrial carpeted areas, a carpet extractor is the ideal machine to remove the toughest residues that have deeply settled within carpet fibers. These machines are used in residences for cleaning mats and carpets. However, one should learn how these machines work to truly understand why they are so important.

How a Carpet Extractor Works

These machines inject a mixture of cleaning solution and water into soft surfaces such as carpets, mats, and seat upholstery. Output pressure varies between 120 psi to 500 psi. Only industrial carpet cleaners suitable for difficult cleaning jobs have an output pressure level of 500 psi. A commercial carpet cleaner with a pressure level of around 120 psi should suffice for normal cleaning tasks.

Output temperature is a far more important consideration. Carpet cleaners can be divided into two types, based on the output temperature: heated machines and nonheated machines. Heated machines consist of a heating element and can provide an output temperature up to 210°F. On the other hand, nonheated machines do not contain a heating element, and their output is at room temperature.
